About the event

Dotti Burton:

My objective in painting is to create, not report. My paintings have  been shown in galleries, have won many awards, published in North Light Books and are part of the permanent collection of Swedish Hospital.Although my vibrant, fresh color has taken center stage in many of my paintings I am always thinking emotion and a compelling composition. I especially like playing with paint and letting it "talk to me". I enjoy painting in a series with different styles, a lesson learned from the masters of contemporary art like Miro, Picasso, Robert Rauschenberg, Jasper Johns, etc. who all reinvented their styles during their long careers.I have taught "Creative Painting" and "Collage" for over ten years at  The Guilded Gallery, Stanwood.

Lynette Stackhouse:  I have always loved making things and decorating inside my home or outside in the yard.  After retiring, I took watercolor classes with Dotti Burton and followed her journey from watercolor to acrylic abstract.  Abstract is my passion and I never know what is going to happen!  I enjoy the process and enjoy the final painting.  Painting is my meditation.  I need more walls in my home.

Cherie Winnicki:  Cherie lives on Camano Island and is inspired by the beauty that surrounds her.  She has always enjoyed creating with color and using a variety of mediums, including acrylic.  Once she participated in Dotti Burton's abstract class she dove in heart, body and soul.

Judy Aiton: A local abstract and mixed-media painter. Inspired by the outdoors, Judy’s works are expressive responses to landscapes, gardens, and the seasons. She believes painting is a language, and so her artistry is not about painting pictures of things. Rather, she paints about things.

Samantha Pierce /Art Journey I can’t think of a time that I have not been connected to art and music. I was very fortunate to have an artistic mother who sang and painted and encouraged me to draw and paint at an early age. We were Air Force, so we traveled and moved a lot, where I got to visit many European countries and soak up other cultures and visit many beautiful museums. Currently I spend my creative time working on collage, and encaustics and acrylic paintings. My influences are the Impressionists, mainly Matisse, Van Gogh, Toulouse Lautrec, with a dash of Pre-Raphaelites thrown in for fun. I enjoy the fun and spirit of creativity in my blessed Camano Island home, and I get my music fix from my rock”n”roll guitarist husband, to the tune of a life I always wanted but only dreamt about.

Margie Ridley:  has lived in the PNW for more than 28 years. Margie creates colorful "abstract paintings & cards using watercolors, acrylics, gelatos & Pastels.  The brilliance of color & abstract designs drives her passion to create. Margie is also a member of the Stanwood Camano Arts Guild.

Jane Morris : Art is thrilling to me. It is my favorite form of communication. I love understanding its complexity and seeing new unique ways it is presented.  When I think there is nothing new and discover a new color, shape, line, texture etc. my brain feels a tickle and gets inspired to breathe.

In the 4th grade I decided I wanted to be an art teacher. I never changed my mind and taught art for 32 years. I am still learning and I love being taught new techniques.

Their Art will be displayed and for sale the entire month of June.

The Gallery is open 7 days a week.

We will be serving pop, wine, bottled water and individual bags of chips for the reception.
