About the event
Class Description - Teacher: Jeanette Mahoney:
Join us for a beginning watercolor whale tail of a class. We will paint this beautiful tail of a humpback whale that swims and eats in our Puget Sound waters. I was able to experience a humpback swimming near a boat I was in. As it decided to do a deep dive into the waters below, it let out a blow of air, and then inhaled. Then very, very slowly its body rolled down into the water and the tail came up, dripping a spray of water. I captured the image just before its tail rolled forward and sunk out of sight. It was amazing to see.
In this class you will learn how to transfer a pattern onto watercolor paper (no drawing necessary), how to use a masking agent to preserve the white of the paper during painting, water control, how to paint the sky with clouds, and paint…
