Launched by a small group of local artists in 1999, the tour now showcases dozens of artists and galleries on Camano Island and in Stanwood. The tour is produced by the non-profit Camano Arts Association (CAA).Â
As it has grown, the diversity of art on the Studio Tour has expanded. You’ll find abundant work of award winning artists to include: paintings in a variety of mediums; sculptures; textiles; ceramics; jewelry; both leather and woodworking; hand-blown and fused glass. Serious art collectors, those new to the arts, and everyone in between will be delighted with all that is available for appreciation and purchase ~ but foremost is continuing this rich tradition of interconnection between artists and their audience.
The Camano Arts Association (CAA) supports its artists and arts-advocate members with monthly meetings, programs and activities. CAA also has strong relationships with other community resources like the Camano Center and the Stanwood Camano Arts Advocacy Commission (SCAAC). Please visit our Primary Information Centers for tour information and brochures: In Stanwood: SCAAC’s Mobile Art Center (MAC). You’ll find the MAC trailer in the parking lot of the future SCAAC art center (former furniture store) in historic west Stanwood. Located at the intersection of Hwy. 532 and 270th. On Camano Island: CAA’s NEW year-round gallery in the ‘Gateway to Camano’ building at Freedom Park (aka Terry’s Corner). Located at the triangular corner where Hwy. 532 splits into East and North Camano Drives.
