About the event

“Rooted on Camano” refers to Susan as much as it does to her artwork. The Thompson’s moved to the Island in 2003. Susan’s home studio is next to the Camano Island State Park overlooking the Saratoga Passage. Her dreamlike paintings, ceramics and drawings flow out of her interpretation of this place where she is now rooted. Her landscapes are allegorical, alive with feeling and interconnection. If you are new to Susan’s art, expect to see lots of uniquely stylized trees and birds in relationship with their environment and each other.

The public is welcome to join us at the opening reception, Saturday, September 14 from 4-6pm at the Gateway Gallery. There will be live music by Second Fiddle during the reception. The exhibition includes a group show of Camano Arts Association members. The show continues through October 13 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
