Krumkake Making Class

Class Description:

Krumkake (Krumkaker) is a delightful Norwegian cookie that has been enjoyed for over 1,000 years. It is ‘baked’ in an iron that presses beautiful designs into the sweet, buttery, delicate and crisp cardamom flavored cookie.

I (Lisa) learned how make these, standing beside my Swedish grandmother, who integrated her Norwegian mother-in-law’s traditions into a home steeped with combined Scandinavian heritage and so much love. Though her recipe was tried and true, I was encouraged by mom mom’s best friend, Judy Lervick, to try her mother, Irene Snartemo’s recipe- and her recipe was indeed excellent, so that is now my recipe of choice.

During our 2 hours together, we will create Krumkake from start to finish- mixing the batter, using a krumkake iron, rolling into cones and even sampling. Hot tea will be provided to enjoy as we learn together. Please bring your apron and an airtight container to…
