Pilchuck Class: Scouring, Mordanting, and Natural Dye

This workshop will inform and empower you to create your own lasting color on cotton. By the end of the workshop, workshop participants will learn to prepare cotton fabric for the dye bath, as well as prepare their own dye pot. This workshop will be information heavy.

In this all-day workshop, we will cover how to scour and mordant on cotton. We will also cover applying natural color to cotton, with an emphasis on immersion dyeing. Participants will walk away with two naturally dyed cotton bandanas that they prepped and dyed during the workshop.
