SCAAC Field Trip: Brian Perry Studio

Class Description:

Join us for a SCAAC Field Trip! We have been invited to visit the studio of Brian Perry, Stillaguamish Tribe's Master Carver. https://www.northwestcoastalart.com. 

Brian is a S’Klallam artist whose work includes everything from drums, rattles and masks to large carved relief panels, totem poles, metal sculptures and Northwest coast canoes. For this Art-Xcursion, Brian has invited SCAAC guests to meet at his studio for an artist's talk and then to stay for his open studio hours, where guests will have the opportunity to try their hand at carving using the tools and wood blocks provided. Guests are also encouraged to bring their own art project to work on as well (paint, pen & ink, pencil, sketch, fiber art, carving, etc.).

We will be meeting at 2:15pm at the Future Art Center: 10008 270th St. NW Stanwood, WA 98292. We will caravan to the studio, or you are welcome to arrange your own carpool from there or meet at the studio. Parking is located behind the Stillaguamish Tribe Massage Therapy Clinic (next door to the studio): 24219 James Dorsey Way Suite B, Arlington WA, 98223 

*This event does require advanced tickets, as the space is very limited.
