March MACness 2023!

THE GIST:

To celebrate the MAC's debut, SCAAC is cohosting a coloring contest with Tapped Camano! For four weeks beginning March 16th, Tapped Camano will be accepting MAC coloring page submissions. Each Friday, SCAAC jurors will whittle down the submissions to the top 8. Those 8 finalists will compete in an online contest and the two artworks with the most votes by Monday night will be placed on the official March MACness bracket. Bracket voting will run from April 18 – 23. The winner will be announced on April 24th.

 

1st Place PRIZE: $50 Tapped Gift Card

2nd Place PRIZE: $50 Camano Commons Gift Card

3rd Place PRIZE: $20 Twin City Lanes Gift Card & $20 Cookie Mill Gift Card

ALL SUBMISSIONS will be on display in the Mobile Art Center during the Camano Island Studio Tour! (This is a BIG deal.)

HOW TO SUBMIT ARTWORK:

Step 1:

Head over to Tapped Camano (848 N Sunrise Blvd, Camano, WA 98282) and get yourself a coloring page and a delicious snack.

Step 2:

Draw/color your design on the exterior of SCAAC’s Mobile Art Center (MAC). The interior will be fully transformable (gallery, workshop, classroom, marketplace) – so feel free to add in some of those details as well.

Step 3:

Finish up your snack!

Step 4:

Take a pic and/or selfie with your drawing, and post it to social media using the hashtag #marchmacness. Be sure to tag @tappedcamano & @scaac_wa (FB @scaacwa).

Step 5:

Leave your artwork with the helpful crew at Tapped Camano. We’ll take it from there!

HOW TO PLAY MARCH (MAC)NESS:

Step 1:

Check SCAAC’s social media feed every Saturday (March 25, April 1, 8 & 15) to see the artwork that made it into the running for that week’s bracket. Voting to get on the March MACness bracket (there are only two spots per week) will be from Saturday through Monday. So tell your friends and neighbors!

Step 2:

Check SCAAC’s social media feed on the following Tuesday to see the artwork that made it to onto that week’s bracket.

Step 3:

Get everyone you know ready to vote on the brackets from April 18 – 23rd.

Step 4:

See who won on April 24th!

RULES:

- Can be done with any medium you like (crayon, marker, colored pencil, etc). The interior will be fully transformable (gallery, workshop, classroom, marketplace) – so feel free to add in some of those details as well.

- You can enter all 4 weeks of the contest! Just create a new artwork at Tapped Camano, and submit it using the Steps below.
