Dotti Burton:

My objective in painting is to create, not report. My paintings have  been shown in galleries, have won many awards, published in North Light Books and are part of the permanent collection of Swedish Hospital.Although my vibrant, fresh color has taken center stage in many of my paintings I am always thinking emotion and a compelling composition. I especially like playing with paint and letting it "talk to me". I enjoy painting in a series with different styles, a lesson learned from the masters of contemporary art like Miro, Picasso, Robert Rauschenberg, Jasper Johns, etc. who all reinvented their styles during their long careers.I have taught "Creative Painting" and "Collage" for over ten years at  The Guilded Gallery, Stanwood.

I have always loved making things and decorating inside my home or outside in the yard.  After retiring, I took watercolor classes with Dotti Burton and followed her journey from watercolor to acrylic abstract.…
