Cassera Gallery along with La Conner Seaside Gallery have chosen a selection of works from the historic Lambiel Museum on Orcas Island. Paintings and sculpture by renowned San Juan Island’s and Skagit artists like Al Currier, James Hardman, Ramona Hammerly, Leo Osborne, Catherine E. Skinner & Xiaogang Zhu. Ancient textiles, Important Persian Rugs and more. We have selections for all price ranges including some great gift ideas.

For over 50 years, Leo Lambiel collected local art and displayed in proudly in the Lambiel Museum on Orcas Island, WA.  Leo started out with a little 24′ x 24′ cabin and built on it over the years until it became the stunningly unique treasure hanging on a precipice above the ocean and filled with a plethora of masterpieces by countless artists.

Leo has unbelievable explanations for how he made, commissioned, or bought every single thing inside and outside of his home. He’s a serious, private, hard-working, big-dreaming man who was forced to let go of everything.

Leo had many reasons he was forced to sell his museum property and move on. Between death, family illness, and pitiful lawsuits, Leo has experienced heavy loss in almost every imaginable way – very personal, emotional situations. This was never the fate he intended for his incredibly-built home and his extensive art collection. If only National Geographic or the Smithsonian had been able to document it all before it was gone.

When asked what his next dream is, he replied that he wants a comfortable house with a comfortable room with warm lighting, a comfortable chair, a good glass of wine, and a great book.
